WHAT MAKES OUR RETREATS UNIQUE?
Our retreats are carefully curated to give you the most effective wellness and mindfulness experience possible.
We combine the benefits of yoga and meditation with guest speakers who are experts in their fields (including corporate mindfulness and executive coaching) and fine dining that is as nutritious as it is delicious.
Our aim is to enable you to take time out, rest, reset and gain valuable tools and techniques that you can use long after the retreat has finished.

THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
Our yoga is suitable for all abilities, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. It is not so much about the yoga ability, but more about our guests feeling welcomed and at ease. We understand that many working professionals will not yet have had the chance to explore yoga, and this could be exactly why you are here.
Whilst the classes will be guided by an experienced yoga teacher, the classes will be directed by you. We will listen to how open you are to trying the different types of yoga practice, and what it is you would like to get out of the experience.
We will guide you through yoga techniques for the office or whilst you are sat at your desk. We also understand time can be limited for you, so we can also offer you styles of yoga that will fit in with your busy lifestyle.
Whether it be Hatha, Ashtanga or Yin yoga, all classes cover pranayama (breathing) and meditation to help increase oxygen flow, balance, clarity and to promote a peaceful mind. Our morning sessions are dynamic and the evening sessions are restorative.
A lot of people wonder what mindfulness meditation is, or how you even do it, but it is as simple as this – meditation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts
Normally, mental and physical stress cause increased levels of the stress hormone cortisol. This produces many of the harmful effects of stress, such as the release of inflammatory chemicals called cytokines. These effects can disrupt sleep, promote depression and anxiety, increase blood pressure, and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking. Meditation reduces the inflammation response caused by stress, and research has show that it may also improve symptoms of stress-related conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder and fibromyalgia.
Being a busy professional requires many traits, but none less than the ability to deal with extreme levels of stress and hard work, and meditation is now widely recognised as one of the greatest tools to help people on all levels cope with stress in their lives.
Our guided meditation will give the space to help control your thoughts and reactivity, and more importantly the tools to take away with you to continue your practice at home should you wish to.
We curate bespoke retreats for busy professionals and our schedule has been designed with your lifestyle and career in mind.
We understand what it is like to work in high pressure, corporate environments. With this in mind we have organised a schedule of guest speakers throughout the year, all experts in their field and who will deliver invaluable sessions with a view to helping you and your mental fitness.
Whether that be discussing career burnout, organisational mindfulness, stress coping mechanisms or mental health in the workplace, we go above and beyond to deliver a schedule that will help make real an lasting changes in your personal and work life.
We are proud to annouce that the guest speaker for our next retreat is Andrew McNeil, author of 'Organisational Mindfulness' and founder of organisationalmindfulness.co.uk. Andrew is also the co-founder of Pause Training and Workplace Policy Lead and Projects Advisor to the Mindfulness Initiative, Andrew is and accomplished senior leader with over 20 years experience in major project leadership.
Andrew provides consultancy services and training for people who want to bring mindfulness into their organisations, and you will be able to experience his extensive expertise at our next retreat.
REST AND RELAXATION
We recognise that one of the primary reasons for attending a retreat is to enable some time for yourself.
During our retreats there are many opportunities for you to take time out and choose what you would like to do. This experience is all about you, and getting exactly what you need. Whether that be sitting round the fire reading a book, taking a nap, going for a walk or taking a dip in the sea. It is entirely up to you.
As part of the BusyBuddha experience, we will also have some extra ‘you time’ experiences for you to choose from including an onsite masseuse should you wish to get the ultimate relaxation experience. We will also offer pamper packs for you to take away and enjoy in your own time.
For those more experienced yogis, we can also offer a more advanced class during this relaxation time. There will also be the opportunity for taster hypnotherapy sessions, delivered by Paul our resident hypnotherapist.
At our retreats, you can do as little or as much as you like - the experience is created with you at the centre of everything we offer. And these added extras are all included in the price of your BusyBuddha experience.
All food provided on our retreats is carefully prepared by our resident chef, Pete and his team, sourcing local Dorset ingredients and supporting micro and local Dorset suppliers alike. Our award-winning, Michelin star trained chefs have worked at some of the finest establishments in the UK including Boodles London, Chewton Glen Spa, Dorset and Royal Crescent Bath, to name but a few.
This award-winning team adds unique sparkle and creativity to our bespoke menu to ensure you enjoy a memorable and personal experience. We offer organic fine food and do not expect any of our guests to abstain from alcohol or eat raw food - though of course this can be catered for you if it is your preference.
Our main aim is for our guests to feel comfortable and welcome, and we therefore feel that making our ‘meat eating guests’ change to a vegan diet for the weekend does exactly the opposite to what we set out to achieve. A forced diet can often make people feel excluded or apprehensive, and so we allow our guests to choose their own diet and just be unapologetically you!
Our destinations are hand picked to offer you the utmost comfort and relaxation during your stay.
The BusyBuddha experience combines a luxury weekend away, with the grounding benefits of yoga and meditation. It is our ethos that you do not have to be a monk, abstaining from life’s luxuries, to understand and experience the life changing teachings of yoga and meditation. You can simply have both!
We choose our accommodation from experience, knowing exactly the little life luxuries professionals look for, particularly when away from the comforts of your own home. We also carefully choose the location, to make sure you have the chance to reconnect with nature, experience mindfulness and explore the stunning surroundings.
You can trust that our destinations will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
“You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless you’re too busy. Then you should sit for an hour”
